..China - 5th Series 2019-2020 Prints

中华人民共和国
(中華人民共和國)
(Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó)
(People's Republic of China)

中国人民银行 (中國人民銀行)
(Zhōngguó Rénmín Yínháng / People's Bank of China)
Currency : Renminbi 人民币 (CNY)

This is a set of 5 notes of the Mao Zedong (Mao Tse Tung/毛泽东/毛澤東) fifth series all printed with the year date of 2019, except the 5 yuan which has a year date of 2020. These notes were released for circulation on 30.08.2019 and 05.11.2020 (5 yuan). The fifth series was first introduced in 1999, which consists of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 yuan. These latest notes are all reprinted with new security features such as enhanced anti-counterfeiting features which include denomination as registration device, windowed security threads, denomination in "PARK" and a new year date. All notes printed with vertical serial numbers except for the 1 and 5 yuan. There are also some changes to the designs on all the notes and the most noticeable changes are the denomination values on the back. The top two values on the back are printed with no pattern or design on it (i.e. blank). Just like the 1999 print, the 1 yuan is still printed with no visible security thread. The 100 yuan is not included in this 2019/2020 series as this note was last upgraded in 2015. Since 1999, the central bank has not released a full set of banknotes from 1 to 100 yuan in any given year. Reprints were issued in 2005 without the 1 yuan and in 2015 for the 100 yuan only.

There are still few countries around the world that their banknotes are still issued without any signature(s) on it and China is one of them. Instead of signature(s), all it has is an official square seal printed and in this case, the seal is printed on the back of the note. Other countries also used the seal are Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore (both seal and signature) too.

Below are the brief description of the notes, both front and back;-
